CRM Software is a Tool for Customer Relationship Management

Posted by Jeff Connelly on Feb 2nd, 2008

In our experience with hundreds of CRM implementations, one of the biggest roadblocks to CRM success is an overemphasis on the CRM software. It is extremely important to view the CRM software as a tool for customer relationship management and not as the entire package.

Too often, companies start with looking for the right software. Executives see the potential in CRM and start by looking at all of the software options.

Successful CRM initiatives begin with careful analysis of the current business processes in place. By determining what processes are currently working and which are falling short, you can place priorities on the vital processes to be handled by the CRM software solution you choose.

The analyzation of your current processes also allows for fine-tuning, creating new processes, and the discarding of ineffective ones.

When effective business processes are maximized through the right CRM software technology, your company is on its way to seeing real and substantial revenue growth from your CRM initiative.
